Our continued efforts around COVID-19
Updated April 24, 2020
Being tasked with making nutritious, affordable food for our consumers is an enormous responsibility and one we at Butterball do not take lightly. We know that even though daily routine has changed, food is something every family needs as we work through this global health event. We are doing everything in our power to keep our facilities operating and producing the food you count on.
I am proud of the efforts by our team members who have been serving the critical needs of our customers and communities through this unprecedented period. We have a responsibility to continue producing food as the country responds to the COVID-19 pandemic - and the health of our team members is essential to this mission.
We have a specific procedure for anyone being tested for, confirmed ill with, or asked to quarantine because of COVID-19, which includes pay and benefits. We strongly encourage any team member with questions to speak with their supervisor or plant HR.
In recent months, we have made efforts at all of our plants to “flatten the curve”, including enhancing our already strict sanitization protocols on the production floor, deploying multi-daily cleanings in common areas, empowering greater social distancing measures, implementing body temperature screenings for anyone entering the facilities and providing surgical-style face masks that team members are required to wear inside the facilities. We will continue to aggressively pursue initiatives that best protect our teams while they are at work.
Every ounce of food that comes off our lines helps to put food on the table for another nurse, senior citizen, package handler and child. Our teams take this responsibility incredibly seriously.
From our family to yours,
President and CEO
